The present book is meant for the first-year engineering curricula of various universities in India. It describes the basic theories of Semiconductor Diodes and Application, Bipolar Junction Transistors, Biasing Methods, Other Devices, Amplifiers and Oscillators, Operational Amplifiers, Communication Systems and Boolean Algebra and Digital Logic.
S.Y. Kulkani :- S.Y. Kulkarni obtained his B.E. degree from B.V.B. College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli with 2nd Rank from Karnataka University Dharwar. He did his postgraduation (M.Tech) and Ph.D. from a highly reputed Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai in the current field of VLSI Design.
He has wide range of experience in both industry and academia. He served as faculty at B.V.B. College of Engg. & Tech., Hubli for 15 yrs. He has published about 32 technical papers in national and international conference and journals. He has chaired/co-chaired several technical sessions in international conferences and also delivered keynote addresses. He has delivered nearly 150 invited lectures and presented several invited technical papers. He has guided two Ph.D. students and at present he is guiding five Ph.D. students.
He has also received the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan National Award for Best Engineering College Principal 2009 in recognition of the outstanding contribution to the academic community and the students.B. Somanathan Nair :- B. Somanathan Nair is currently the Principal, S.H.M. Engineering College, Kadakkal, and
a Visiting Professor in the Department of Optoelectronics, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. Formerly, he was the Principal and Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in various Government Engineering Colleges in Kerala. Prof. Nair is the author of 23 textbooks in the area of Electronics and Communication Engineering.K. Shree Krishna Kumar :- K. Shree Krishna Kumar is the Director of the All India Council for Technical Education, Bangalore.
