Microbes and Sustainable Agriculture covers recent spate of research, highlighting the major role of microbes in agriculture sustainability. It explains the role of bacteria, cyanobacteria and fungi in diverse facets of agriculture to preserve the sustainability including arbuscular mycorrhizal association, microbial biopesticides, heavy metal resistant bacterial strains, herbicides for weed management, biochar and its role in soil fertility management and plant disease management
This book is designed for undergraduate, postgraduate and research students working or interested in agricultural microbiology; and to serve as a reference for scientists, professionals and engineers in this field.

  • Presented in 16 chapters, the main pillar of the book is to examine and highlight the various roles that microbes play in agricultural sustainability. The interdisciplinary treatment of the topics in a synthesized manner makes this book a useful resource guide for agricultural scientists.
  • Explores the relationship between microbial use in different agricultural practices like use of biofertilizers, pesticides, for the reclamation & restoration of soil and plant disease management.
  • Some of the chapters serve as a complete case study individually and have the scope for application in habitats with similar problems.
